Instructions for Registration

We are extending the deadline for applications to Friday 4th December. When submitting your application please ensure that the forms are legible and complete.

In these unprecedented times, we have had to determine the safest way to deliver our program to protect you, the families that we provide for; our sponsors and our volunteers. This year we will stay in our mandate of providing a Christmas meal and gifts to families with children. This will mean that single people, two adult couple families and group adult households will not receive assistance from the Christmas Hamper Society this year, including seniors. If you are registered with the Friends In Need Food Bank, you will receive a Registration Form and the relevant information on your next visit.

Please note:

  • There will be no dates and/or venues set up for registration this year, it will be done remotely.
  • Rudolph’s Recycle Gift Shoppe, Toy Shopping and Kid’s Only will not be available this year.
  • The gift and Christmas Day food program will be delivered solely with gift cards this year (three $25 gift cards for each child 18 years and younger and a gift card for food), including the Good Neighbour (sponsorship) program.
  • Families who were previously denied by the Christmas Hamper Society will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • The Means Test will be applied for all families.

Process:

  • Complete the Registration Form (both pages) and email it to: registration@mrpmchristmashamper.org
  • A volunteer will connect with you to confirm your details; names; care card numbers, proof of income and these will need to be validated accordingly (the Means Test will be applied to all applicants).
  • Once verified, families will be assigned a unique registration number and will be given a date and time to collect the gift cards from the Christmas Hamper office.
  • Please do not arrive at the Hamper site at any time outside of that advised to you. We have to work within strict guidelines and limit contact.
  • When you arrive at the site, you will be directed to a tent and you will drive up to the assigned tent and will be handed the gift cards.
  • You will be required to show ID when you collect your envelope and sign for it.
  • If you rely on public transportation, please advise the volunteer when they call you as we have to restrict foot traffic
